Web Design

For today’s organizations, an effective functional web site is a necessity. For many people it’s the first, and sometimes only, touchpoint with an organization’s brand and message. Miller Designworks combines insightful strategy with tactically appropriate technologies to bring the best value to web development projects. From the initial consultation, through the information architecture and interface design, to development and implementation, MDW will deliver the right solution for your organization. Our award-winning staff designs, develops and delivers in best-of-breed technologies; including Flash, PHP/MySQL, ASP/MSSQL, Ajax, and Standards-compliant CSS/HTML.

Citadel National Construction Group web site

When an existing client was tasked with cleaning up the web site of this national consortium they were founding members of, they turned again to Miller Designworks. We met with the marketing director to hear what functional issues they were having, and incorporated solutions to those problems at the same time as we gave it a much needed visual renovation.

Re-engineering it on the WordPress framework, we made it easy for non-technical staff to keep the project portfolio and news up-to-date while keeping a consistent upscale look and feel. The large projects were enhanced by large-scale professional photographs on the site.

Macaione and Papa Dermatology web site

Macaione and Papa Dermatology came to Miller Designworks needing a facelift for their practice. We developed an identity and logo for them which we then applied to a new web site that matched the sophistication and high end nature of their practice. Built on WordPress so that they are able to easily maintain the site, they add news and specials for their secondary skin care business, The Skin Loft.

DCTS Web Site

Extending the concept of “Real School for the Real World”, which was developed for a DVD recently produced for the school by Miller Designworks, the web site utilizes WordPress as a content management system to help in-house staff keep content fresh. It also allows for each instructor to maintain a class blog right on their program page. Utilizing over 20 web videos produced for the DVD, the site gives prospective students an inside look at the programs available to them, while also keeping connections to alumni and potential employers in the community. BDP International Web Site

BDP International, the Philadelphia-based global logistics firm, once again chose Miller Designworks to redesign and re-engineer their corporate web site. After an extensive research period, gathering input from a large number of representative stakeholders, the team at MDW created an information architecture that reflected user needs as well as new marketing directions for the privately-held company.

With that blueprint in hand, designs were developed to reinforce brand messaging and to promote the broad capabilities and reach of the growing company. Keeping in mind new technologies, the site was built mobile-friendly and standards-compliant. No flash was used in the animations on the site, and the global office locater tool is built integrating custom kml data from the site database into Google maps. Careful selection of photography helps bring the site alive visually. Built on an open-source content management system, the highly customized site was engineered from the beginning to be easy to maintain and update.

This web site is the third iteration in our long history of supporting the design and communications needs of BDP, and we are honored to continue to be considered a trusted partner and resource in their ongoing success.

Horizon Services Web Site

A clean, organized web site with a focus on search engine optimization, communicating the company’s service priority as well as their local presence was the challenge Horizon Services presented us with. Their old site had become cluttered, after years and years of new content and images were forced into a saturated layout. MDW created this clean and organized website, that has proven over time to be flexible for their growing needs and expanding business. It was built on a heavily customized blog framework for the CMS allowing the client to make changes and additions to content easily from any internet connected computer.

“We looked at quite a few firms, most of whom simply couldn’t handle the project, couldn’t grasp our objectives or quoted us an exorbitant price. Miller Designworks was different. They intuitively knew what we were trying to accomplish with this project. They came through with a cutting-edge web site that looks like a million bucks, has performed beyond our expectations and has become the talk of our industry. Steve, Marshall and everyone at Miller Designworks have been extremely easy to work with, responsive and proactive.”
